Preferred: Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) preferred

Rank: Instructor or Assistant Professor (DOE)

Tenure Status: Tenure Track

Salary: $64,500 to $71,000 (DOE)

Primary Activity: Exclusively for Credit

Located in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) is a newly independent public community college accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. A proud Hispanic Serving Institution, it awards certificates and associate degrees that serve the needs of its region and prepare students to transfer to programs at other colleges or universities. SENMC offers Early College and Dual Credit programs in collaboration with local high schools.

Position Summary:

Southeast New Mexico College is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position in Business. The accepted job candidate will teach courses in Business. The faculty member hired in this position is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities to promote student-centered learning and success. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction and assessment of student learning outcomes, holding office hours, serving on various committees, and demonstrating a commitment to professional development through participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities, and organizations.

 

Requirements for the Position:

Will be assigned to teach on a 9-month contract to teach 27 – 30 credit hours in Fall and Spring semesters teaching 100 and 200-level courses. Holds regular office hours in accordance with the policies established in the SENMC Faculty HandbookTeaching duties include teaching effectively to a diverse student body, conducting ongoing assessments of courses and student learning outcomes, and developing courses/curriculum as needed. College service commitments include participating in professional development activities and serving on various committees for the benefit of Southeast New Mexico College. Faculty may be assigned weekend and evening classes, and/or hybrid/online classes. Evaluates student performance and instructional methods using the college’s established system of assessment. Serves as a member of the college’s various governance committees and task forces to promote institutional/instructional efficiency and support a culture of learning. Collaborates with other departments regarding interdisciplinary projects, campus events, and instructional training. Attends scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, required training, and committee meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be willing to live in Carlsbad, New Mexico, or the surrounding area close enough to commute.

 

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business or Master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate credits in Business. Ability to teach a variety of Business courses. Ability to contribute academically to the teaching discipline.
