Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

This position supports Calpine Energy Solutions' pricing, contracting, and deal-close team. This position is primarily responsible for supporting and updating the pricing, contracting, and deal-close software, including updating key pricing components, managing user account access, making product configuration changes, constructing new products, maintaining contract templates, and ad-hoc data requests. Responsibilities also include developing functional and technical business requirements, completing testing of modifications to systems and interfaces and supporting the users in other various phases of System Development Life Cycle. This position is also responsible for utilizing query tools to analyze, read and retrieve data from various databases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the pricing application Project Manager with maintenance of key pricing input data
  • Support the pricing application Project Manager by implementing pricing product enhancements and configuration changes in the pricing, contracting, and deal-close software
  • Act as liaison between the business user community and the pricing application vendor
  • Provide day to day operational troubleshooting for system issues, bugs, and fixes.
  • Implement processes and controls to ensure 100% accuracy in daily processing and pricing.
  • Perform user and integration testing for application upgrades, patches and hot fixes.
  • Run various queries on settlement and billing application data to validate interfaces are operating properly and data content is accurate.
  • Develop business requirements documents based upon knowledge of the business processes and meetings with the business owners.
  • Work with Legal to maintain and update contract documents
  • Support users by delivering training for pricing, contracting, and deal-close application upgrades and enhancements.
  • Support users by creating and maintaining training documentation and desktop procedures.
  • Run and maintain Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports

Job Requirement

  • Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, mathematics, business, economics or at least 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Must possess initiative, advanced decision-making skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of the deregulated retail electricity and natural gas markets
  • Experience with Intelometry's inRetail software is desired
  • Experience with basic SQL query tools to extract information from databases (SQL Server) and source applications is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including experience with macros and VBA.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail energy related experience is preferable.
  • Knowledge of Intelometry's inRetail Software Platform
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to learn independently.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Requires problem solving ability and sufficient knowledge of system analysis skills.
  • Must possess initiative, advanced decision-making skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Must be able to handle multiple requests at the same time and be able to prioritize one's workload.
  • Experience with every phase of the System Development Life Cycle
  • Ability to develop and test data in accordance with system requirements to achieve expected results.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and gather conceptual ideas and turn into functional requirements.
  • Ability to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner to other less technically oriented customers
  • Ability to perform queries using SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
  • Some Travel Required

Salary Information - Position is eligible for annual bonus.

Salary range - $54,984.95 to $81,102.60
