Job Description

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a junior-level Business Analyst to support a team at the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in San Diego, CA. In this role, the individual will provide a variety of administrative, programmatic, and analytical support functions to government customers.

Typical Responsibilities: The candidate's responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:

  • Supported meetings by ensuring technical aspects of presentation was set up properly, ran slides for presenters, ensured guests signed in and are notified regarding electronic device protocols.
  • Supported meeting by making sure guests had proper badge credentials and do not have signal producing electronics on them, have them place electronics in lockers if necessary.
  • Coordinated with VTC and Protocol on finding vacant conference rooms for meetings.
  • Updated Hub page after meetings, uploaded briefs.
  • Made edits to Hub page so that information is current.
  • Ran meeting slides for SPM, Tech Talks, RNOB, uploaded slides for further review and attendance minutes onto Hub page.
  • Created agenda for next SPM meeting, made edits as necessary, edit PowerPoint presentations.
  • Coordinated with Protocol office to seek out available meeting/conference rooms, made reservations if room suffices requirements.
  • Contacted outside vendors for catering quotes.
  • Researched different websites for Org charts, reached out to PAO.
  • Assisted with Techboard planning, messaged contacts to ensure weekly planning goals are met.

Job Details:

  • Target Pay Range: $24.04 - 25.71/hour
  • Existing Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim Secret (or above) clearance.
  • Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.
  • Worksite: Primarily onsite at NIWC Pacific in Point Loma, San Diego, CA. Some telework flexibility may be allowed, in accordance with NIWC's current remote work allowance.
  • Schedule: California Alternate Work Week schedule. Typically Mondays - Thursdays 9 hours daily, and Fridays alternate between 8 hours or 0 hours.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in any business or technical discipline. Ideal disciplines include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
    • In lieu of degree: Candidates holding a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) credential or relevant experience with DOD SharePoint management, MS Power Apps (BI, Apps, Automate) in conjunction with additional years of highly relevant experience.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience supporting corporate knowledge management functions, including at least one (1) year of experience in knowledge management and/or process automation.
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating between technical developers and end-user customers, including requirements gathering and test design.
    • Experience obtained in a U.S. Navy/DoD environment is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency and experience with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with MS Power Apps and Power BI, or willingness to learn prior to reporting to NIWC Pacific customers.
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA project tracking software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
