Family Health Center of San Diego is looking for a Grant Wrier I who is responsible for the facilitation of the proposal development process through organizing, research and analysis activities, and for the planning, development and writing of grant proposals in support of the organization's mission and related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in development and coordinate the completion of funder-compliant programmatic budgets, in conjunction program and accounting staff.
- Create compelling, persuasive, well-structured grant narratives through the use of effective storytelling, relevant data and superior prose-while effectively tying FHCSD's needs to funder priorities.
- Lead and coordinate the researching, development, writing, packaging and submission of grant proposals.
- Maintain and contribute to data organization systems, including departmental databases. Update and contribute to shared team resources.
- Other duties, as assigned, sometimes requiring flexibility in work hours.
- Undertake internal and external research to identify funding sources as well as gather statistical, analytical and anecdotal data.
Requirements:
- B.A. or B.S., or a minimum of 3 years of success as a professional grant writer.
- Experience with governmental grant submissions especially HRSA EHB, grants.gov, Grant Solutions and similar interfaces preferred.
- M.A., M.S., MPH, and/or dual degree with writing + science emphases preferred.
- Minimum one year experience in proposal development required.
- One + year(s) proposal development experience in a FQHC or other non-profit health context preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
- Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active Class C California driver's license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, on vehicle used. No more than 2 points in past 12 months; No suspensions in last 2 years for moving violations; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 5 years. No license revocation in 7 years.

64,480.00 - 85,973.33If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
