$21.90 - $31.21

Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service to South Central College’s students, staff, faculty, and other customers in a professional and timely manner in the Culinary Café. 

 

1. Operate a cash register/point of sale (POS) system

2. Café assistance

3. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Complete all annual training requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic math skills sufficient to be able to do account reconciliations.
  • English proficiency, writing and reading skills sufficient to read, explain, and interpret a variety of materials and follow detailed instructions.
  • Experience operating a cash register
  • Data management skills sufficient to be able to enter and retrieve data into a POS system
  • Strong customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers.
  • Work constructively and cohesively with supervisors, employees, students and the general public
  • Regular walking and standing required

 

Preferred Qualification 

  • Experience in food and or beverage industry
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, particularly those that apply to retail pricing, cash receipts, sales, and deposits
  • Skills to operate modern office machinery, and be proficient with personal computers and software, automated/electronic purchasing processes, report generation techniques and data base management and stock control records
  • Organize and prioritize one’s own work
  • Knowledge of safety rules and sanitation needs for a kitchen setting

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)

Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
