Part-Time Lecturer, Financial Reporting for Lawyers, School of Law
Job Description
Boston University School of Law is seeking to hire a part-time lecturer to teach Financial Reporting for Lawyers during the Fall 2022 semester. The two-credit class is scheduled to meet once a week, in person, on the BU Law campus. The course description follows below.
Required Skills
Financial Reporting for Lawyers
Understanding financial statements and reports. The objective of the course is that students will be able to read and understand financial statements and periodic reports filed by public companies. Emphasis is placed on understanding the nature and meaning of the reports, as well as the relationship to the underlying transactions. Other topics include basic accounting principles, US GAAP versus IFRS, financial statement analysis, the relationship of the financial statement information to covenant documents, and strategic accounting.
Required Experience
A JD degree or experience at an accounting firm, with substantive knowledge and expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis, are required.
