Job Description
Drew University is seeking Adjunct Instructors in the Department of Business to teach the Fundamentals of Financial Accounting in person to approximately 30 undergraduate students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 10:15am. Catalog description appears below.
Our semester run for 14 class weeks from 8/25/2025 to 12/5/2025 (except 9/1 Labor Day,10/6-10/7 Fall Break and 11/26-11/30 Thanksgiving Break), with final exams scheduled between 12/8 and 12/12. Instructor compensation is $4,500 per course.
Course Descriptions:
ACCT 215 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
Exposes students to the accounting principles and practices used by decision-makers associated with a business or governmental entity. Major topics may include the accounting cycle, preparation and analysis of financial statements, standards and procedures for assets and liabilities, and the roles of corporate communication and responsibilities with respect to the accounting process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the course.
- Assign and grade homework and exams.
- Hold office hours.
- Assign course grades that are a reflection of student ability.
- Be passionate about innovative teaching within a liberal arts context in small classes.
Required Education and Experience:
- Previous success or promise in teaching.
- Ph.D., DBA, or MBA in Accounting or a related discipline.
