The primary function of this position is to oversee receiving, shipping and storage of materials and supplies while providing outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.

This position is sensitive and will require a criminal background check. Notice of E 'Verify participation.

Examples of Duties

 

  • Receives and delivers all materials purchased through Procurement Office
  • Inspects all receivables for completeness against purchase orders and inspects for damages
  • Delivers all materials to end users and collect signatures on hand held device as accepting items
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies purchasing personnel
  • Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiated proof of delivery documents
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, hand truck and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; operate company vehicle to delivery shipments; and assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area. Keep record of maintenance log for Fork lift
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement and safety standards
  • Coordinates pickup of documents for shredding and coordinates shredding dates with vendor
  • Coordinates the delivery of copier paper with vendor and delivers copier paper to each department as necessary
  • Maintain records for boxes pickup for shredding and amount of copier paper delivered
  • Uses hand handle radio for communications
  • Assist all departments with picking up parts and materials off campus
  • Assist in the bookstore for restocking, organizing, delivering mail, and other tasks as needed

 

Typical Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED of diploma.  Basic computer knowledge. 
  • Three (3) years of experience in warehouse or storeroom work involving receipt, storage and issued of materials preferred
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and Forklift certification

  • Have organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with UPS, FedEX or DHL shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to prepare written memoranda, interpret shipping and receiving documents, interact with the purchasing department and accounts payable in resolving issues arising from the daily operations.  
  • Ability to operate tier-lift truck, forklift or use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or warehouse. 
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs.

The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus as well as ability to determine the color of objects.
