Job Title: Senior Business Lending Manager
Department: Credit Union Business Lending
Reports To: Vice President-Credit Union Lending
FLSA Status: Exempt
Grade Level: 1100
Hours 7/8:30 am – 4/5:30 pm Monday – Friday*
Location Ann Arbor, MI 48105*, with frequent day travel required
SUMMARY
This position will be accountable and responsible for generation of new loan applications and the processing and delivery of loans submitted by Credit Unions, including the onboarding, training and preparedness activities of individuals to ensure optimal success.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for MBC core values: Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Innovation and Leadership.
Develop and maintain relationships with MBC CU’s that generate loan application volume
- Develop and implement ongoing training to CU branches and staff members on behalf of MBC to include small business loan guidelines and processes. May include custom training requests.
- Assist in the onboarding of new credit unions to MBC that may including training, reviewing appropriate documentation and other functions that may be necessary.
- Address periodic questions and or concerns arising with the CU or staff related to business financing
- Attend and speak on behalf of Credit Unions and MBC at outside community-based organization events.
- Help to train and develop Business Lending Manager position.
Facilitate high quality origination experience for borrowers, credit unions and MBC team.
- Receive referrals from credit unions and other sources and promptly communicate requirements and actions to borrower and referral source as appropriate
- Demonstrate awareness of MBC application checklist requirements and ensure appropriate checklist compliance communications when submitting applications
- Maintain continual attention to loan status and processing needs and ensure prompt and clear communications internally and externally on all assigned applications
- Assist with due diligence and loan documentation preparation activities as required
- § Work closely with MBC team members and credit union decision makers to ensure clear awareness of status and risk factors associated with respective loans, borrower desires and financing needs and in order to generate optimal processing effectiveness
- Assist credit union in establishing membership and appropriate cross sell activities associated with respective borrowers
Maintain relationships with credit union staff members and assigned portfolios to improve future business development potential and enhance relationship retention
- Assist credit union in maintaining member relationships and awareness of future opportunities and current servicing issues
- Assist credit union and assigned portfolio manager with risk monitoring, loan modification and renewal requests
- Facilitate member loyalty and encourage additional patronage or referrals as appropriate
SUCCESS MEASUREMENTS:
Success in this position is primarily measured as the quality of the application and origination experience received by borrowers, and perceived by the credit unions, and the number/quality of trainings sessions conducted and loans produced. Additional measurement includes assisting the MBC origination team to achieve its overall goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S. ) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous small business or commercial lending experience required and strong public speaking or training experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before members or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

*MBC operates within a flex time environment, allowing reasonable employee discretion in start and end times. Certain functions may be supported from a work at home environment as agreed to by the MBC president.

Pay: $90,648.00 - $135,971.00 per year
