Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for a Fiscal Technician position at the Indiana main campus.

The Fiscal technician in accounts payable is responsible for processing invoices, which includes entering invoices into the SAP enterprise resource planning system, verifying invoices, maintaining records of the payments, and maintaining relationship with suppliers. IUP’s accounts payable department processes payments and financial transactions to suppliers, service providers, and employees. This position’s primary focus will be on travel vouchers and will also include extensive cross training in all areas of accounts payable to ensure continuity of service to stakeholders.

Monday - Friday
8:00am - 4:30pm

 

Position Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:


  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant.
or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices and graduation from high school.
or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration.
or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
 
  • Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).
  • Candidates must have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.
 
The salary for this position is determined by the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 

Essential Functions

 

The work of this position occurs in a typical office environment. Although infrequent, periods of heavy exertion may occur. Incumbent must have the following abilities:

  • Ability to travel to field locations and meeting/training sites by motor vehicle when required.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing to issue, receive and carry out instructions and orders effectively and to convey information to a variety of co-workers and the public.
  • Use common office machines such as telephones, calculators, copiers, computer terminals, keyboards, video display terminals, auxiliary printers, and similar equipment.
  • Perform manual duties such as lifting and carrying various weight limits.
  • Operate office equipment which may require stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching and prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to internal and external customers.
