Assistant Professor of Business - Alfred State College

Job Description

The Business Department seeks a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor dependent on coursework and experience beginning January 2024. The position's primary focus is to teach, develop, and grow our Business Programs, with focus on Business Administration and Technology Management courses. Education or experience in program development and strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is preferred. Additional responsibilities include advising students, instructional design, program coordination, and conducting course development. Involvement in college governance/ committee work and department activities is expected as well as institutional development. Active participants will also be involved in assessment planning for curriculum and department accreditations. This is an on-campus teaching position. A typical teaching load for this position is 15CH per semester.


Job Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

  • An MBA or related Master's degree is required.
  • Candidate should have excellent written, verbal, digital communication, computer skills, experience with simulations, and organizational skills.
  • An understanding of the differences between a university and a small college, with the desire to work at a small, residential college is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Credentials of PhD or DBA
  • Industry experience and/or teaching in business areas in higher education
  • Experience working with students of all demographics
