Lecturer of Finance
Job Description
Graham School of Management and Saint Xavier University invites applications for a Lecturer in Finance, to begin on August 14, 2024. This is a full-time, one-year contract lecturer, with the possibility of future renewal(s) based on performance and University needs. The position is based in Chicago, IL.
The selected candidate is expected to contribute toward advancing Graham School's mission and vision primarily through teaching and service. The Graham School of Management strives to develop business leaders with personal, professional, and service excellence. Whether a learner pursues a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), or a Master of Business Administration (MBA), our AACSB-accredited business curriculum will help them develop human and practical skills that help them obtain meaningful employment. The selected candidate will teach a course load of four courses per semester in Finance and Business Math at the undergraduate level.

The successful candidate will be able to design and teach courses in a broad area of finance courses at the undergraduate level and have the ability to work with minimum supervision, maintain effective communications with colleagues, and use initiative to resolve problems or find information. The candidate must also be prepared to work in School and University level faculty committees and participate in shared governance activities.
Qualifications
Applicants for the position must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) or ABD in Finance, or a related field with at least one peer-reviewed journal publication in finance by the time of the appointment. The preferred candidate will have post-secondary teaching experience and/or significant work-related experience in finance. Candidates with a Master's degree in Finance will be considered but need to have extensive full-time work experience in the field as well as significant teaching experience.
