Your Role

The Law Business team brings experience, expertise and solutions in technology, data management and other support services to help the Law Department continuously improve and excel in our support of BSC and its affiliates. The Business Analyst will be responsible for providing technical support to the Law Department teams and will report to the Law Business Team Senior Manager. In this role, your core areas of responsibility include but aren't limited to: Collect and analyze data for department benchmarking, metrics analysis and trending, and program development. Provide data in abstracts, graphs and summaries for development of internal reports. Manage, design, develop and implement changes for department internal and external websites. Develop and conduct technical training for department staff. Provide project assistance, as necessary, to the Law Department teams.

Candidates must be fully competent in database management, including a working knowledge of database administration concepts, practices, and procedures. A working knowledge of general information technology and business analysis terminology is required. The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical analysis and statistics to a broader, non-technical audience. A high attention to detail, as well as the ability to prioritize workload, stay focused and meet deadlines are also required.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Provide highly complex analytical support through the analysis and interpretation of data in support of cross-functional business operations
  • Lead the development of annual operating plans, capital budgets and forecasts, and build business cases for new business initiatives (cost/benefit analysis)
  • Develop, prepare, and analyze reports with highly complex analysis and data for management review, and presents to various levels of management
  • Define business requirements and provide analysis to increase operational efficiency
  • Provide analytical support for multiple, highly complex cross-functional projects simultaneously, establish work plans and timelines, coordinates with internal and external resources
  • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment and formulates a recommendation
  • Designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others
  • Support quality and continued process improvements for internal and enterprise initiatives

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with Project Management
  • System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with Tableau and Structured Query Language (SQL)

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $96,470.00 to $144,760.00 for California.

Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
