Assistant Director of Business ServicesSalary: $73,512 - $81,126Classification: Administrative/ExemptReports to: Director of Business ServicesThe Assistant Director of Business Services serves as backup for the Director of Business Services. The Assistant Director of Business is responsible for the accounting functions of the college and the critical accounting functions of the college. The Assistant Director of Business Services supervises accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, travel & expense, banking (treasury), grants, and the general ledger transactions. This position has broad financial responsibilities to manage, direct, coordinate, and assist with the college-wide operating and capital budgets. Through collaboration with the Business Department, this position will be responsible for administering the annual operating budget process across the college, recommending policies, procedures, and organizational structures for an effective and efficient process.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Manage the college accounting functions and activities. Develop and manage an effective system of internal controls and documentation to safeguard resources and mitigate risk. Manage the fiscal and accounting system controls to meet State, Federal, etc. standards and requirements. Revise, formulate, and implement accounting & business systems and procedures for processes supervised. Supervise the maintenance and fiscal integrity of the automated financial software. Perform all supervisory functions for Accounting Services employees, such as performance management, team building, hiring, and training. Monitor the accounting and budgeting systems to assist in the control of college spending. Analyze complex financial and statistical data, and complex financial reports, to streamline/improve processes. Recommend and implement fiscal policies and procedures representing best business practices in accounting. Interpret state and federal regulations to develop effective procedures for compliance and implementation. Plan, develop and implement fiscal reports to enhance effectiveness, control expenditures, provide needed services, and assure conformance with the laws and public policies. Provide financial consultation and advice to the campus community. Coordinate and communicate fiscal procedures and determine methods for improving procedures and services. Manage accounting related projects such as implementation of new systems or processes. Attend SBCTC meetings, ctcLink trainings and workshops when needed. Serves as back for Director of Business Services Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Terms of EmploymentThis is a full-time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary for this position is $73,512 - $81,126 DOE annually, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.
