Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company's PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

The Business Development Analyst will support the growth and delivery of EDF Renewables Canada and US Northeast region portfolio, supporting the Project Development team. This includes focus on the identification, evaluation, structuring, and execution of acquisitions and project off-take, and responsibility for driving market research, competitive analysis, and financial analysis for the regions. Further, the Analyst will support strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial management and administering systems and processes essential to the success of the regions.

Responsibilities

Business Development

    Support identification, review, negotiation, and evaluation of potential acquisitions and divestitures of renewable projects in Northeastern United States and Canada.
  • Identify and assess key markets, technologies and stakeholders for regional development team project success.

Strategic Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting

  • Providing guidance in strategic planning and development of financial and business plans.
  • Supporting the preparation and submittal of budgets, plans, forecasts and executive communications.
  • Analyzing cost reporting and reconciliation of forecasts to the budget as well as analysis of financial data and metrics for the annual operating budget.

Market Research and Financial Analysis

  • Performing market research and financial analysis.
  • Structuring and managing the Region's market intelligence file repository.
  • Developing, updating, and improving the Region's market research and financial analysis methodology and support pricing efforts with financial analysis.

Competitive Analysis

  • Conducting and maintaining routine and ad hoc competitive benchmarking and analysis.
  • Developing, updating, and improving the Region's competitive analysis methodology.

Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:75% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. Approximately 25% of the time is meeting with stakeholders, visiting other EDF Renewables offices or training.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Infrastructure, Energy or related field is preferred.
  • Preference of 3+ years of related experience in management consulting or renewable energy.
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365; MS Project, Teams, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Outstanding interpersonal oral and written communication, presentation skills required.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, ability to work well with others and be a good team player
  • Strong organizational, communication and management skills
  • Ability to adapt to evolving competitive landscape and work in a fast-paced, challenging
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of organizational skills.
