Summary
The Department of Environment, Health & Safety is seeking a Business Administrator to supervise the EH&S administrative team and oversee the daily operation of the department, to include human resource and financial management duties.
Responsibilities*
- Administratively and functionally manage administrative staff activities and personnel in the department.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of EH&S.
- Continuous process improvement- Creating/updating/training. Makes suggestions and implement department wide changes.
- Administer the safety shoe and eyeglass PPE programs - work with suppliers to address billing issues, resolve employee issues, and coordinate on site events for UM schools/colleges.
- Oversee all department vehicle leases and coordinate replacement vehicles.
- Review and identify gaps and improvements for internal control.
- Oversee complex invoice payment process. Process all AEC related invoices, route WO invoices, review all AEC journal entries to ensure accuracy.
- Review travel requests; approve expense reports and other transactions on time and to standard.
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to handle frequent interruptions and continue to meet deadlines
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines and adapt as priorities shift
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative on projects and make decisions
- Strong problem solving skills
- Exceptional work ethic
Desired Qualifications*
- Familiarity with University policies and procedures, especially those related to Finance/Procurement.
