Adjunct Job Announcement

Position: Business Management Adjunct Instructor

Location: Athens & Walton Campus

Department: Division of Business, Industry, & Manufacturing

Reports to: Program Chair for Business Management/Marketing Management and Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. No State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Available to teach daytime, evening, or online classes, and may be expected to commute to other satellite campus locations (Walton) for teaching classes and other college-related concerns.
• Instruct and supervise a diverse population of students.
• Possess a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
• Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
• Advise students in academic matters or refer students to appropriate resources.
• Assess students' performance through a range of measurement activities and keeps them informed of their progress promptly.
• Assist in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, and college administration.
• Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions and departments.
• Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
• Attend advisory and institutional meetings as required.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in discipline OR a completed Master’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Business Management courses required.
• Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of relevant work experience in the field.
• Current or prior experience as an adjunct instructor teaching online, lecture, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses at the college level.
• Experience with the Blackboard learning management system.
