Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech) seeks a Business Coordinator for the Office of Business, Facilities, and Finance. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Human Resources, the incumbent will create payroll actions in PHR and payroll salary expense transfers in KFS for Mtech programs. Payroll activities include new hires, C1 contracts, pay adjustments, time entry adjustments, and timesheet corrections. This position will serve as the Mtech Telecommunications and Transportation Coordinator and be the dedicated Mtech Asset Inventory Coordinator. This position will coordinate the functions of the business office. Functions to include KFS transactions for Ventures and MIPS, KFS transactions such as GEC, DVs, etc., day-to-day procurement and guest travel requests, service contracts, and file management.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience:
Two or more years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, payroll, and/or personnel work.
Preferences:
Preferrences:
- Working experience in higher education, specifically at UMD, is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of university software tools and/or systems such as PHR, KFS, eTerp, and others
- Knowledge of UMD’s policies and procedures in the areas of payroll, finance, and administration
