Assistant Professor of Marketing and Sales - The College of Saint Rose
Job Description
The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Sales in the Huether School of Business, beginning August 2023. This is a full time, tenure track position.
Readying students to excel in every business function in any organization, the Huether School of Business offers programs in a wide range of disciplines, from financial planning and accounting, to business analytics and marketing. Offering undergraduate degrees, Masters of Business Administration, and the Masters of Science in Accounting, the Huether School is accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits (4 courses) per semester in marketing and sales. The courses may include:
- BUS 253 Principles of Marketing
- BUS 313 Data Analysis in Sales and Marketing
- BUS 373 Sales Management
- BUS 374 Personal Selling and Negotiation
Appropriately qualified candidates will also teach specialization courses which may include BUS 339 Principles of Digital Marketing, BUS 354 Retail Management, BUS 370 Consumer Behavior, BUS 377 Business-to-Business Marketing, BUS 423 International Marketing, BUS 424 Services Marketing. Qualified candidates may be asked to develop these topics into graduate courses to help build the new MBA concentration in marketing.
Additionally, responsibilities include contributing to the continuing development and refinement of the marketing and sales programs, engaging in scholarship, attending internal and external events applicable to the College and the candidate's academic discipline, academic advising, program assessment, curriculum development, and participation in Department, School, and College committees.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a PhD or DBA from an accredited institution in Marketing with sales experience, or a closely related academic field, at the time of appointment on August 1, 2023.
An ABD from an accredited institution in Marketing and/or Sales, or a closely related academic field, will be considered if the degree will be completed within 1 year from date of appointment.
Additional requirements include; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, a record of scholarly work or professional impact in the field of accounting, demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population, superior written and oral communication skills and, if selected to advance, a successful demonstration of teaching ability and scholarship during the on campus interview. Highly desirable candidates will have industry experience in Accounting.
