Position Description
The Department of Management and Marketing in the School of Business at the College of Charleston seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Marketing Instructor starting August 16, 2023. Applicants should demonstrate competency and interest in teaching in one or more of a variety of marketing classes at the undergraduate and potentially graduate levels. Desirable areas of interest include principles of marketing, sales, retail, and marketing management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
An MBA (or an M.A. or M.S. degree in a related business field) from either AACSB, EFMD or EQUIS accredited program is the minimum academic requirement for this position. For graduate instruction, a terminal degree or alternative qualifications is required. Preference will be given to candidates who are enthusiastic, collegial, engaged with students, good communicators, and team players.

ABOUT THE M.B.A. PROGRAM The one-year MBA program has an annual cohort of 50-55 students who form close relationships with their faculty and advisors. The program has won numerous awards and was named one of the US News & World Report’s top programs with 100% job placement within three months of graduation. The program also boasts the highest percentage of female students in a full-time MBA program — U.S. News & World Report (2021).
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching four courses per semester in marketing at the undergraduate and possible graduate levels with no more than 2 course preps per semester.
- Developing new courses as they relate to the strategic objectives of the Department and the School by utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance the success of diverse learners.
- Engaging with the School of Business marketing students in support of a rich program of advising and curating experiential activities.
- Engaging in service activities such as student event programming, community outreach, mentoring, and committee assignments.
