Posting Summary
Reporting to the Budget Manager, the Business Specialist at Rutgers School of Business–Camden (RSBC) provides business and accounting assistance in a variety of tasks, including the processing of various financial documents and journal entries, accruals, payroll, and accounts receivable. This position also assists with reconciliations for multiple accounts monthly, including maintaining records and reports. This position ensures the accurate and timely process of payroll for employees at RSBC, Professional and Executive Education, and Small Business Development Center, including the troubleshooting of salary and payroll discrepancies and consulting directly with the Budget Manager accordingly. The position also compiles and analyzes expenditures; prepares raw financial data for analysis; and prepares reports as requested.
This position will also be responsible for the student billing process and procedures of the Professional MBA Program and Executive Education Programs, including resolving student billing and AP inquiries. Further, the Business Specialist completes additional duties as assigned consistent with the mission, vision, and role of the school.
Working under general supervision, within established work parameters, with few direct instructions, the Business Specialist completes routine and non-routine tasks with occasional review of work outputs by supervisor. Additionally, professional work requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices, as well as a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of accounting.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
