University Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from high school and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through four years of specialized office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Essential Job Duties | This position serves as the primary Business Services Specialist (BSS) for all federal and state grants and contracts, PIFA, and ongoing research funds in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Responsibilities include: Financial management (reporting, reconciliation of funds, data entry, budget revisions/justifications, assumption of risk forms, cost share tracking, release time tracking) Purchasing (uses 49er Mart and pcard to secure all equipment (capital and non) and supply purchases, receiving, waiver of competition justification, vendor setup, equipment contracts) Travel (prepares TA/TR for all federal/state grant, PIFA, and ongoing research related travel for faculty and students) Hiring (responsible for all hiring and personnel related issues for faculty (summer salary, special pays), student employment pertaining to grants), and postdoctoral researchers. Serves as a backup for state fund business operations. |
