Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The Curriculum in Toxicology is an interdepartmental program for the education and research training of graduate students and postdoctoral trainees in toxicology. The Curriculum in Toxicology is an independent degree-granting program through the Graduate School granting program awards for both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Toxicology. The primary, on-campus faculty (approximately 60% of the faculty) is composed of faculty members with primary appointments in departments in the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, and School of Pharmacy. The adjunct, off-campus faculty (approximately 40% of the faculty} is affiliated with research-based organizations at the Research Triangle Park, mostly at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. |

Position Summary | As the Administrative Manager (Office Manager/Student Services Manager) of the Curriculum in Toxicology, this position’s primary purpose and focus are twofold: 1} responsible for initiating and processing all administrative duties associated with the Curriculum independently, and 2) to assist the Directors, faculty, students, and postdoctoral fellows with their activities. This position initiates all personnel and administrative functions. As the Student Services Manager, this individual must create and implement the necessary processing of admissions, payroll registration, records management, tuition and fees, tuition remission, graduate studies brochure, and class schedule documents as deemed appropriate. H/She is responsible for the organization and coordination of competitive and non-competitive renewal applications for trainee funding through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. In addition to the above, this individual will be responsible for the posting of transactions for the US EPA Training Agreement and NIEHS Training Grant. H/She will be required to provide regular monthly financial reports to the Director and his/her other associates as needed or as requested. Quarterly reports must be prepared and submitted in a timely and efficient manner to US EPA, reflecting future projections and current expenditures to date for each trainee (past and present). Attention to detail and complete accuracy are mandatory to avoid potential loss of trainee funding. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
