Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Analyst I (Systems) in Digital Data Solutions and Support for Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The Business Analyst I (Systems) for the Institute’s Digital & Data Solutions and Support department, under the supervision of the Director, Projects and Solution Delivery will join a growing team responsible for guiding our stakeholders through a process of documenting workflows and requirements and then helping to align those with teams designing solutions and implementing them. Additionally, delivering business-critical reporting, the analysis, evaluation, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of computer system applications specific to the operations of the Institute.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Performs as the liaison between D2S2 and administrative and operational units of the Institute to help maximize effectiveness when designing system processes and reports that meet the business needs of the units and ensures excellent service to our Institute.
  • Evaluates business requirements and works with university-wide end-user committees to determine solutions as business needs evolve.
  • Provides timely end-user support, tracks issues, and communicates resolutions to end users.
  • Performs advanced technical and analytical work in the development and support of standardized and/or customized reports.
  • Evaluates, analyzes, and communicates systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintains systems processes, including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties.
  • Drives identification of requirements across business units and identifies substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data.
  • Assists in the management of various software systems product suite and upgrades, troubleshooting software problems, investigating new system solutions, generating and reviewing discrepancy reports and compiling data for individual campus needs.
  • Ensures that all staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in documenting workflows, business processes, and client engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of HIPAA rules and best practices for protecting PHI.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of industry standards and trends.
  • Knowledge of system architecture and application portfolio.
  • Knowledge of requirements management and/or prototyping (e.g. ALM, Jira, RallyDev, Balsamiq, iRise).
  • Ability to simplify & standardize complex concepts and/or processes.
  • Demonstrated Business acumen and Project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills suitable for service environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in SDLC, Iterative, Agile, OWF, and /or Scrum development.
  • Experience in No-Code/Low-Code techniques.
  • Experience in an academic and/or healthcare environment.

Immunization Requirements
