The Department of Decision Sciences of The George Washington University’s School of Business invites applications for a special service faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the areas of Business Analytics, data and AI governance– to include experience with the NIST AI risk management framework and SR 11-17 model governance, software development (Python, SAS ), and analytics consultancy, to begin as early as Fall 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Machine Learning, responsible data analytics, consultancy and practicum, help to administer the program, and conduct scholarly and practice-oriented research leading to publications in trade journals and peer-reviewed journals. The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in service to the department, school, university, and the practitioner and scholarly community.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications: Applicants must have completed all degree requirements for an advanced degree in Business Analytics, or a related interdisciplinary field, by date of appointment, have extensive experience with consulting in the field, demonstrated expertise in open source and commercial software development (Python, SAS ), and be fluent with federal regulations, standards, and best practices for Data Analytics. Applicants must also demonstrate the potential for outstanding scholarly research and excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Advertised Salary:

The GWSB Decision Sciences department is a multidisciplinary group comprised of OR, OM, Statistics, Data Analytics, and Project Management scholars. We have 16 full-time faculty researching and teaching in the above-mentioned areas. The department houses GW’s Master’s in Business Analytics and Master’s in Project Management , and also participates in all of GW School of Business programs at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. GW also hosts an Institute for integrating statistics in decision sciences (I2SDS), providing extensive resources for international business research, teaching, and outreach on our campus and beyond.
