The Department of Finance and Legal Studies at the University of Missouri - St. Louis invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2023 or Spring 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• An active researcher
• teach four three-credit courses in an academic year as needed related to the candidate's strength and needs of the program
• engage with Student Investment Trust, the new MS in Fintech, and the DBA program
• contribute to a welcoming and inclusive classroom, department, and campus community

Required Qualifications:

• A doctoral degree in Finance (or related area) as the primary focus of study from an AACSB-accredited school. Applicants may be ABD but must complete the PhD by May, 2024
• A strong background in fintech, including research skills leading to publications in high-quality peer-reviewed research outlets; and a commitment to teaching and service
• The ability to teach the following courses;
  • Financial technology (Fintech), including blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, financial data analytics (Python and R), and financial derivatives as well as other traditional finance courses such as financial management
• Experience with (or a demonstrated commitment to) supporting the success of a diverse student body

Preferred Qualifications:

• A secondary strong quantitative background in computer science and data analytics
• Online teaching experience
